Membership and Dues

You must join both US Masters Swimming and pay dues to RMST. The current USMS fee is $75 per year due Dec. 1 or when you join. When you join USMS, select “Potomac Valley” as your LMSC and Reston Masters Swim Team (RMST) as your team.

Dues are due monthly on the 1st of the month and should be paid during the week prior to the upcoming month.  Dues are:

• $80/month (you may access all 5 swim practices weekly)
• $50/month (you may access the 3 weekend swim practices)
• $920/year (full membership access) $40 discount
• $25/month (email workouts only) * 

Important: As a not-for-profit, RMST is able to collect payments through the Zeffy fundraising platform.  Zeffy charges RMST absolutely nothing for this service but please be very careful, Zeffy is funded by contributions and they suggest an extremely generous contribution of 17%.  RMST cannot refund contributions made to Zeffy, even those made in error. 

If you have previously paid by check to avoid transaction fees, you are welcome to set the contribution to zero.  If you normally pay online, please contribute what you are comfortable with. With PayPal, the transaction fee was about $2.80 per month.

Monthly dues and any Zeffy contribution will be charged monthly until you stop them.  You will receive a receipt whenever your dues are collected.  If you wish to stop your monthly payment of dues (and no longer swim with us) please follow the link provided in the email receipts.

* The workouts only option is for swimmers who want to be coached but not to swim with the group. Coach Frank will email you workouts to do on your own. This option is ideal for long-term travel, for team members who have moved away, or for those who prefer swimming at different hours or in a private lane.
